Atlanta, GA – After this past weekend every team has now played a game and the playoff picture is looking clearer.
Chattanooga defended their home turf and went 2-0 on the weekend beating Saint Louis 21-3 and Western Kentucky 16-4. Western Carolina also went 2-0 also beating Saint Louis and Western Kentucky. The Mocs and Wildcats have secured the top two spots in the North Division, the two will play 3/27 at Chattanooga’s football stadium for the Division Title. Saint Louis has one game remaining against Mississippi State to boost their Wildcard resume, while Western Kentucky will have to wait to see how things play out.
Morehouse was unfortunately unable to play this weekend so Mississippi State and Samford each received a forfeit win. Mississippi State took down Samford 10-3 to secure first place in the West Division. Florida A&M, now known as Capitol City United, defeated South Alabama 12-5 in Mobile.
This Saturday Georgia College will host Emory and Capitol City in a battle for the East Division. This will be the first time GCSU has faced either team. Georgia College will also host South Florida, an MCLA DII team, on Sunday.
Samford hosts South Alabama and Chattanooga. With a win over Samford, South Alabama will secure a spot in the playoffs. If Samford wins their playoff fate will be decided by the Mississippi State-South Alabama game on 3/28. Chattanooga is already in the playoffs, but they have a chance to improve their seeding with these games.
